Quick note: anything that has a cute little asterisk* next to it is independently published by the author, and may only be available through Amazon. I have strong opinions about buying books through Amazon, and until recently refused to even entertain the idea of getting any through them, whether published by the author or by a major publishing house. Some very well-timed and eye-catching targeted ads on Instagram had me rethinking my stance on this, and now I find that I’m more open to the idea so long as I’m supporting authors who are putting their work out in the world at their own expense.
My preference will always be to support independent bookstores first and foremost, so please remember to shop locally at your neighborhood indie store. Other than the self-published titles previously mentioned, all of this month’s selections are hyperlinked to Main Point Books where I shop regularly. If you want to find an independent bookstore in your area, IndieBound.org has a very helpful store finder. If you’d like to support local stores on a broader scale, you can order through Bookshop.org. For anything else, consult Google. And until next time,
Happy reading,
Sam
